Camp Kindness is licensed and adheres to all guidelines set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. We are tuned in to the needs of today’s youth and the importance of instilling the four core values of the Y: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, throughout our programs. The camp leadership staff consists of professionals dedicated to the mission and philosophies of the YMCA where we build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Our purpose is to provide an enriching experience in a safe and structured developmentally appropriate program, one that will provide positive and enriching long-lasting memories for your child.


Camp Hours & fees

Ages:

For children entering kindergarten through age 12.

Hours:

8:30am-4:00pm | Monday - Friday

Weekly Program Cost:

Campers Ages 4.9-6

$325/week for Y of MV family members*
$400/week for general public
(Note on minimum age: children must be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2023 to participate in summer camp.

Campers Ages 7-12

$300/week for Y of MV family members*
$375/week for general public


One time registration fee: $25
$25 deposit per week, non-refundable, due at registration


Full day/full week only


Weekly sibling discount of $15 per child
(not applicable with other subsidies or Financial Assistance)

*To receive member rate and priority registration for members, parent/guardian and camper must be on a family membership at the time of registration AND have membership active at least 2 weeks prior to camp week they are attending (same time payment is due). Best membership option is one-adult or two-adult family monthly draft with option of 3 month hold. Please email aosburn@ymcamv.org for additional membership information.


Our Staff

We hire positive role models at our camp! Camp Kindness staff are chosen for their experience working with children, enthusiasm, knowledge and caring nature. We make the most of our opportunity to have a positive influence on the lives of our campers. All of our staff attend pre-camp training focusing on youth development, safety, supervision, program implementation, and the YMCA Mission.

What to bring to camp

  1. Backpack or sealable bag.
  2. Lunch with cooler pack and TWO additional snacks for the morning and afternoon.
  3. Bathing suit & towel (goggles optional). We will provide swim caps or you can pack one.
  4. Water bottle (filled with water + ice each morning).
  5. Sunscreen (Please be sure to sunscreen your child EVERY morning before drop off).
    *Don’t forget to label your sunscreen!
    *Camp staff will assist with sunscreen application throughout the day.
  6. Change of clothes, just in case (shirt, shorts, socks, underwear).
  7. Bug spray, for nature hikes. Please spray your kiddo with bug spray BEFORE camp.
  8. Appropriate clothing (no open-toed shoes; rain jacket & rain boots if necessary; hat, long sleeve shirts and long pants for protection from the sun.) Please make sure your child has socks if ICE SKATING is on the schedule for the day.


please note:

  • All belongings will be sent home daily to be laundered.
  • Soft items and toys from home will not be permitted.
  • All items must fit inside the child’s backpack/bag
