Competitive Swim

Our competitive swim programs offer people of all ages an opportunity to work with trained coaches to improve swimming skills, endurance and promote a healthy lifestyle.

MAKOS SWIM CLUB

Makos is the YMCA of Martha’s Vineyards competitive swim team for children ages 6-18. Swimming with the Makos offers vigorous workouts based on high energy, technique-focused swims, on personalized challenging intervals. The Makos team is divided into different workout groups based on skill level and designed for the advancement of each swimmer. Under direction of the coach, all workout groups practice at the same times each day.

  • Please be aware that class may be cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Credits will not be issued for classes canceled for these reasons.
  • Only the Aquatic Director will approve refunds for reasons not mentioned above.
  • The YMCA does not offer make-ups for individual absences.
