Help the Y make an Island Impact

 

Why do we have an annual “Island Impact” campaign?  The Island Impact campaign is an integral part of the Y mission.  Contributed support is one of the essential elements that helps create and preserve the unique character of the Y.

The Island Impact campaign raises money for our programs, annual operations and scholarships.  Through our scholarships and programs, the YMCA can serve deserving children and families who may not be able to pay for essential Y services.  Children learn to swim, attend after-school or childcare programs, go to summer camp, make friends and memories under the supervision and mentoring of professional staff.  This year, the YMCA of Martha’s Vineyard has given away over $89,000 in scholarships to deserving youth, families, & individuals.  Next year, we expect that number to be even greater.

The Island Impact campaign is about making new connections, friends and raising funds.  It serves as an outreach program to increase understanding and acceptance of the Y’s mission, goals and objectives.  Island Impact is a testament to the Y’s commitment to respond to human and social needs through valid, positive programs that merit community support.
