The Mako Swim Club is the YMCA of Martha’s Vineyards year-round competitive swim club for ages 6-18. The Makos are a member of the Southeastern Massachusetts Swim League which competes from October until March. They are also
members of New England Swimming which they participate in year round. The team is coached by David Espindle and Rainy Goodale and offers vigorous work-outs based on high energy, technique-focused swims on personalized challenging intervals. The Mako team is broken into three different work-out groups, each designed for the advancement of each swimmer and each individual.

Open to swimmers 18+, Masters Swimming provides structured fitness swimming workouts that include stroke refinement and set design. The coach will adapt the workout to your goals while providing a fun, yet challenging group swimming workout. This class is perfect for those that want to cross-train for fitness, improve their swimming ability, or train for a triathlon or other swimming competition. You don’t need to already be an advanced swimmer to get something out of this group. Enrollment is year round and ongoing with drop-in and monthly rates for members and non-members.

The Bonito Swim Club provides an introduction to competitive swimming for children ages 6-12. Children will learn and practice competitive swimming skills and gauge their level of interest in swimming competitively. This is a great program for those already enrolled in swimming lessons that want to take their skills to the next level.
Participants should be able to swim 25 yards without assistance. The Bonito Swim Club operates on 6-week sessions, contact David Espindle for information regarding session dates and availability.
